The Problems With Nigeria

In which I attempt to summarize the plethora of Nigeria's menaces:

1. The din of generators rambling at all hours of the day, what has always been the soundtrack of your life, the bane of your existence.
2. Unquestionable, barely-educated politicians, governors, senators, ministers, presidents, who have made themselves alpha and omega, larger-than-life demagogues who will be accountable and answerable to absolutely nobody, and if you do not like it, you can go and die.
3. Lazy, ugly journalism; messy newspaper articles which read like something written by a sloppy blogger in a mad hurry.
4. Half-baked graduates who do not know the difference between they're and their. I write this with a heavy heart.
5. Ass-kissing which elevates the eye-servicers to positions of supervisors and managers, and leaves relegated to the sidelines those who actually know how to do their job.
6. Churches which are more interested in the worship of man than in service to humanity.
7. "Go and marry" being the answer to every woman who voices complaints about the patriarchy that warps our society.
8. Impatience which makes people allergic to standing in queues and waiting their turn.
9. Corruption. Corruption. Corruption.
10. Inferiority Complex; how everything we do -- every damn thing -- has to be compared to the West; has to have a "...but in America..." addendum.
