Of power and hypocisy

Power is an interesting thing. As is hypocrisy. You very easily see somebody else's hypocrisy, but never yours. When repressed by the pressure someone exerts on you because of their position of power, you are quick to voice out your oppression. However, when put in a situation similar to theirs, you commit worse atrocities. Yet you never see it; you never see your wrong. The plank-and-spec-in-eye analogy will never lose relevance. At our basest, we are cannibalistic and cruel. The 'best' of us are vile and brutal.
