4 – A small plumbing problem #LoveStoryChallenge

Kalanne lived in Stonebridge Apartments with three other students – Emily, Nicole and Maryam. Stonebridge Apartments was a block of student flats managed by Middlesbrough City University. Kalanne saw little to nothing of Emily, Nicole and Maryam, who were first year students and had thrown themselves into having the best year of their lives; partying, bar-crawling and doing everything but studying. The flat was lonely for Kalanne and often smelled of damp laundry and stale vegetable oil. She was applying for an LLM in Property Law and was juggling applications alongside coursework and exam revision. She stayed indoors most days, her daily routine revolving around classes, the library and the flat. It was a boring life, but she had spent the first two years at university not being as serious with her books as she should have and was finally paying the price. Now, imagine her surprise when, one morning, a knock came on the door and the blue-eyed Scot from church was standing there, saying he had been sent to fix the dripping tap in the kitchen.
