Don't take your eyes off me

Isaiah 26: 3
You keep in perfect peace him/she whose mind is steadfast, because s/he trusts in You.

One of the devil's tactics is to make you feel ungrateful and not content with what God has done for you thus for. He always draws your attention to prayers God hasn't answered yet and to life's disappointments (that job you didn't get, that promotion you didn't make, how you're still not married yet, how you're still struggling through school, your health, your relationships, your finances etc). It sounds familiar, doesn't it?

When you let the devil do this to you, he takes your attention off all that God has done for you, therefore creating doubt in your mind and mistrust for God, which is an unhealthy and often dangerous place to be in.

But feel encouraged today. Remember all the promises God has made to you, remember all the things he has done for you, be grateful and trust Him.

The above Isaiah scripture paraphrased reads:
When your heart trusts God, your mind follows through with that action and is steadfast to God (you don't grumble and you don't mumble at the state of affairs), and God in turn keeps you in perfect peace.

Perfect peace doesn't mean that there is no trouble and that everything is always rosy; perfect peace means that even in the storm, you feel God's tranquility.

Sometimes I worry
That all we might have are our dreams
And that our dreams might not be enough

And I know what it might feel like
As though God doesn't care anymore
As though you're just wandering through life

But He doesn't make promises He can't fulfill
And besides, He started this
This love affair
This journey
He called us aboard His flight
And He will come through

Today, God is saying to you: Don't take your eyes off me.
